Apple iPhone 15 To Be Unveiled on September 12
Ready for the iPhone 15? Well, better save that date as Apple finally announces an unveiling event that has fans excited for their upcoming products. The reveal is set to take place on September 12, 2023, 10:00 AM PT which means September 13, 1:00 AM for us here in the Philippines.
Apple has chosen the tagline “Wonderlust” for their event; a play on “wanderlust” which connotes a strong desire to get out there and see the world. It’s got plenty of folks wondering what kind of changes the new lineup will bring, ever since the first leaks and speculations came out:
iPhone 15: leaks and rumors
It’s expected that Apple will follow the iPhone 14 lineup, featuring the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, some speculations say that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be renamed to the iPhone 15 Ultra, as in, Apple Watch Ultra.
And like the iPhone 14 lineup, only the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) are expected to come with the A17 Bionic chipsets and 120Hz displays. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are still expected to be stuck at 60Hz but this time, with the A16 Bionic found in the older iPhone 14 Pro.
One thing that’s rumored to distinguish the iPhone 15 Pro Max from the lineup though, is that it could come with a titanium frame. This sets it apart from the stainless steel used in other models, making it sturdier and lighter despite its size. It’s also rumored to get a periscope-style telephoto camera, giving it an optical zoom range like Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Similarities across the line
Despite these differences though, all the iPhone 15 models are expected to also be similar in a number of ways. For example, leaks all point to the phones getting the Dynamic Island; something that was only reserved for the Pro models of the iPhone 14.
The entire series is also expected to replace the dedicated mute switch with a programmable “Action button”, granting you even more flexibility.
Additionally, due to EU regulations, all iPhone models are expected to launch with USB Type-C instead of the Lightning ports older iPhones shipped with.
Other Announcements
In addition to the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple is also expected to showcase the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 for fans of the brand’s wearable tech. Likewise, it’s also possible that Apple refreshes its popular AirPods to give them USB-C ports too.
On another note, people also expect public versions of the latest iOS, macOS, and watchOS to drop at roughly the same time, helping bring older gadgets up to par with their latest and greatest.
You can catch the event online at apple.com or via the Apple TV app on your phone. See you there~
