Signed into law back on October 10, 2022, the SIM Card Registration Act hopes to put an end to crimes and scams perpetrated via mobile phones and unregulated SIM cards. Under this act, a user will have to register their details with their respective telcos first before they can activate their SIM and use features such as calls, texts, and even mobile data.

Many of us have experienced harassment from these spam callers. While some of our phones had been good at filtering this out, the potential for less tech-savvy users to accidentally click on them, especially once they start impersonating our friends and family members.
