Google’s expected to release the midrange Pixel 10a sometime this Q1, way ahead of its flagship Pixel 11 line, bringing their curated Android experience to a more affordable segment. And as with any new device, we now have a number of details leaked out regarding this new hardware.
Surprisingly, some of it looks quite familiar.
The leaked details come from a Verizon certification posted online by leaker Evan Blass, including information about its internals which we’ll take a look at here:
Similar hardware across the board
At a glance, the Pixel 10a appears very similar to the Pixel 9a in terms of hardware capabilities. It’ll come with the same 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED display, bezels, and even the positioning and style of its rear camera layout. Given the size, it’s also reasonable to expect the same 5,100mAh battery inside.
Likewise, if we’re to follow the same trends that the Pixel A-series phones have been following, it might start with 8GB of RAM (the minimum for Google’s AI) and 128GB of storage, with the option to expand up to 256GB. No mention if there’s a bigger 512GB version like the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Camera hardware’s the same with its 48MP main shooter and 13MP ultrawide. In the front, you get a punch hole cutout that contains the 13MP selfie camera. Given similar processing capabilities, overall results should be fairly similar to Google’s previous generation.
Renders show the Pixel 10a coming in four colors. There’s its typical Obsidian as well as Fog (white), Lavender, and a new “Berry” reddish-pink color; a new one for the Pixel 10a.
Has anything been upgraded?
If the bulk of its hardware and even its design all looks the same, you do have to wonder if anything’s been upgraded. Well, there are a number of things. For starters, the screen’s brightness will be increased for better legibility even under harsh sunlight.
Additionally, there’s also the Tensor G4 chip which would reportedly get a slight boost though it’s not sure whether it’s in the form of higher clock speeds or something else. Kind of like the custom Snapdragon for Galaxy design.
It’s very unusual why Google isn’t using the Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 in this new phone the way it did with the previous A-series entries.
There are some software improvements under the hood though, starting with the Material 3 Expressive redesign, which promised more optimized animations and responsiveness when you’re switching in-between your apps.

Switch to the Pixel 10 for the Best Price!
To be clear, even if these specs become final, the Pixel 10a will still be a good and capable phone. It should still perform quite well in your day-to-day use as well as all the AI conveniences you might need. Likewise, you should still get the famed Pixel photography the brand is known for.
But, you might also want to look at the alternatives that’s available.
If you’re looking to save your money, then you can try going for the Pixel 9a, which already carries the same hardware and capabilities anyway. However, it’s now at a more affordable price given its age plus all the discounts you can find in the stores. Given that Google has promised 7 years of support and updates, making it far from obsolete even in 2026.
Additionally, if you don’t mind spending just a little bit more, the standard Pixel 10 is definitely a big step up. For starters, you now get the updated Tensor G5 as well as the new telephoto camera for taking those distant subjects. It’s even available at a new discounted price here at Kimstore.
The Pixel 10a is reportedly launching sometime in February or March 2026.
