How do we secure trust and build a better business in this digital age?
Such is the core of our discussion at the Digital Forum on Digital Trust and Business Growth hosted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Quezon City (PCCI-QC) at Novotel Manila, Araneta City. As our digital tools have gotten more capable, more sophisticated, so too have the challenges we faced.
Online scams, fraudulent transactions–these do more than negatively affect our bottom line: It also eradicates the trust we’ve built with our audience over the years.
Keynote speaker Art Samaneigo, CEO of TechWatch PH and co-founder of ScamWatch PH reminded us about this in a talk about treating trust as a business asset, reminding us of the responsibilities we have when it comes to shoring up our own cybersecurity.
Our forum also featured insightful panel discussions with Josh Quinto of PayMongo, Jocel De Guzman of Truth360 and ScamWatch PH, Marlon Umali of CitySavings Bank, and Atty. Third Bagro of Twala; all of them sharing their tried and tested strategies when it comes to strengthening organizations against cyber threats.
Implementing these strategies not only helps protect our own businesses but also helps our audience with their peace of mind. They can feel more confident trusting us with their purchases and service needs.
The event also included the induction of new PCCI-QC members as well as the Agora Awards presentation by the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA), which includes the Agora Coffee Table Book by Sy Bryan Lato and Kim Lim. There was also the MOU signing between Juan Tax, represented by Jenny Galang, and PCCI-QC, which aims to empower entrepreneurs and MSMEs through financial literacy, digital tools, and practical business support. Truly an exciting time for business and entrepreneurship.
PCCI-QC is all about building a stronger ecosystem after all, and we do that by expanding access for members, encouraging growth for MSMEs and ensuring a stronger single voice of business. And trust is one such asset we can cultivate in order to get there.
